## Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership to team and communicate results and issues to adjacent shifts, train and develop associates and temporaries, audit training and processes, identify future training needs, and trouble shoot production and quality related issues. Review and approve work instructions. Work effectively with support departments and teams regarding safety, quality and productivity. Perform root cause analysis and use past practice, associate input, and DMAR standards to identify problems. Evaluate, adjust, improve, forecast and help prepare countermeasures to meet targets in safety and morale. Effectively interpret blueprints and technical manuals regarding quality concerns and DMAR policies as they relate to associate concerns and issues. Complete daily paperwork, exception reports, schedule rotation of associates as needed, maintain defect tracking through run charts and graphs, track safety concerns of associates using pain index tracking report in MS Office including Access. Be responsible for sorting of non-conforming products to ensure quality to the customer.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job you may be asked to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift or carry component parts weighing up to 35 pounds-lifting parts in excess of 35 pounds with a lift assist, use hands to handle or feel parts, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear, use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, work on the production floor as needed, frequent phone use and keyboarding.
## Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MUST meet minimum qualifications to be considered)
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and minimum 1 year leadership experience or current lateral/higher position.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficient in basic math skills, previous experience interpreting blue prints and technical manuals, effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively train and mentor new/existing associates. Solid understanding of TPS and lean manufacturing techniques, process auditing and the ability to maintain chart records and graph. Ability to prioritize. Leadership skills include coaching and counseling, motivating associates and resolving conflict. Prefer someone who has multiple product knowledge. Must have some knowledge in root cause analysis and process improvement methods. Must be proficient in the use of basic level Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
